Magical readathon

2018
It all started with a little out-there idea for a readathon to mimic the exams the students sit at Hogwarts. I truly didn't expect so many people to, not only restrain themselves from calling me a looney, but join! I was blown away by the awesomeness and kindness of this community, and it has truly become home.

“Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”
― J.K. Rowling

We had a couple extra smaller magical readathons in 2018. Firstly, there was a chance to earn some extra cheeky days for the 2019 O.W.L.s in your Charms exam if you sat and passed some extra credit!

And we closed off the magical year with a Christmas at Hogwarts little festive readathon to celebrate the end of Year One!

2019

We kicked off 2019 with some big changes! Most notably, this is where the Wizarding Careers Guide has been introduced! A handy Hogwarts student booklet with some suggestions of future prospects and recommended exams for those fields! Originally added as a fun bonus, it seemed to have made its way into the main structure of the readathon as most did decide to pick a career to guide them!
This is also the year where I have introduced some more tracking into this, so we can all celebrate the mind blowing data that we all collectively reach, such as pages read!

DURING O.W.L.s
DURING N.E.W.T.s
During the N.E.W.T.s we have also added one of my personal favourite things - Twitter movie hang out! Where we watched and live tweeted our thoughts on that year's Harry Potter movie!
Another addition was the Restricted Section of Hogwarts Library book! This is a tricksey little bugger, that allows you to replace any prompt with this book as it's a group read! It's only if you want to, but the option is there and I love reading books with you all!

Now you can also collect your Graduation Diplomas for a different career, every year!
